SS inscription????

I would like to get some information about the SS-Unit that appears on the inscription in the base of this sculpture, as well as about his owner, Unterstrurmführer Karl Meyer.

It's meant to be for the kettle drummer of 3rd Sturmbann, SS-Regiment 'Germania'.................but in my opinion the dedication is not original. 'Nikolaus' is the name of the drummer's horse.
