    Fake pab

    Hi guys,
    I hate to mention bad items on dealers sites we revere as one of the better dealers.
    But check out Bill Sheas site,item M-289,panzer badge in silver.
    A well known fake,one i have owned and i did think Bill would of surely known about this one.

    I realise dealers make mistakes but this is a very commonly known fake.

    Keifer, you are 100% correct. This is a bogus piece. Someone dropped the ball here.

      Kiefer, You have SERIOUSLY got me worried as I purchased from Bill's website, and paid for, THAT very badge today!!!!

      I was under the impression that most anything from Bill Shea is as good as gold.

      Please, Say it isn't so!!!!!!!!!

        John, the badge is a well known fake. You will get your money back as Bill's standing within our community is spotless. As I said before someone dropped the ball on that listing.

          Im sorry John,
          but being the former owner of one of these repros i unfortunately have tell you they are bogus.They have been on the market for around 13 years now.There used to be an example on mike tuckers sight in the "repro alert" section (bronze though).
          Also these have been mentioned in threads before on this forum as well as the GDC forum.

          2 points to note even before you see this badge,

          A.S pabs had the makers mark under the hinge,not above the catch.
          Fll are the considered makers of totally flat back panzer badges not A.S.
          I read the description and knew as soon as i opened the pic what i would see.
          I wouldnt panic.Just contact bill before he sends it and say you have changed your mind.Take a credit note or buy something else.Bill is very accomadating.

          Bill Shea is a great dealer ,but no dealer is perfect.No one can expect any dealer to be expert in all areas.Bill is 99% spot on the rest of the time.

          Im just a bit dissapointed that this well known fake was even seen on his sight.

                  Hey Guys
                  Thanks for your "watch dog"service.I now have hired a fellow to assist me in writing up some of the items for the site.I grabbed a bunch of common badges and told him to do his thing.I didn't take the usual time to examine these before I gave him the items.This one definitely slipped by and will be pulled from the site within 24 hours.(My daughter who does the updates is in Boston today and I wouldn't dare try to do that technical mumbo jumbo).I sincerely appreciate your help on this one(and stated kind words).I can assure you that I'll make it right with the customer.
                  As a matter of fact,I already sent him another example I had without even looking at that one in the case as I had a backup with a different maker.
