    Hi

Do you think this combat is original ?
    The swastika is removed.

          Hi Johannes,

I agree with the others, a very poor casting of an original clasp. The one Van shows is a good one, but not all AGMuK clasps look like this. There are at least 16 different variants, all differing in their different ways. One thing that all AGMuK CCCs have in common is an intense and deep die strike, much much much better than the fake that started this thread.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

and they take off the swastika because de-nazified items have to be real!

I've noticed that a lot, too - denazified must me real, then the "unknown medal, original???" description, a "found in the neighbor's (who happened to be a vet) attic" story, seems sufficient to cut into the gullibles' mad money... oh well, let them have it. This piece on ebay would probably go for 100 Euros or so. I doubt the seller would supply the crowd with that closeup of the hinge for example, though.
Another thing - Tom - where can I buy your book from once it comes out? 16 different kinds of AGMuKs had me thinking...
                  Kind Regards

                    Hi guys,

We should all be so lucky to have easy fakes like this to identify. Sadly, the Hero is making them much better than this.

R.Schmitt, the book is set to release on Oct. 15th. It is currently in the publishers hands for editing and printing. We are working on an advertisement for the book which will be published on the GCA forum and I will make sure it is posted here as well. That will give ordering instructions and may even have a pre-release ordering option. I currently am keeping a list of interested parties and will send each of you guys an email with the link that that banner once it comes out. Anyone else interested in the meantime can email me to be put on the list at tdurante@empireeng.com

                    Thanks for the interest.
