CCC in silver "FLL" - Original or not?

Hello guys!

I would really appreciate your comments and help on this CCC in silver. As I have never held one in my hands before I am very unsure witch characteristics to look for. When I unpacked it I were really surprised by the weight (very heavy). I said to myself: Is this a cast copy or? The maker markings look a little bit blurry irl, as if on a cast copy, but on the other hand this might be how this special clasp made by this maker turns out over time!? What do you think? A nice original, or well done reproduction?

It's a nice original, but IMO it's a worn bronze grade rather than silver.

I made a search for CCC “FLL” in silver, and one member writes: "This maker the finish on the silver ones is poor. The ones I have seen the finish is mostly gone”.

Do you think it has been chemically treated to remove the bronze, to ”upgrade” it to silver?

I agree, an original BRONZE clasp. I don't think it was chemically altered, FLLs are reknown for their thin bronze finish that did not stand the test of time too well. If it were silver, you would still probably see traces of it on the pin, hinge or catch.

Thank you for your help. It is a little bit disappointing to realise it is a bronze (bought as silver), but on the other hand it has a lot of “been there” character. So I will keep it
