One thing is for shure, after Bastians findings the all the reference books needs to be rewritten. It´s a great milestone regarding the history of collecting!

    Great work Bastian, respect!
    Regards
    Hans N

Don´t throw away your fake WB´s! Get in touch with me.
I collect them for reference purposes for the benefit of the hobby (for the right "fake" price of course).

I'd second that if Dietrich has time.

Robin, Frank H and I talked about whether there was a Wernstein connection to the LCTB. The result was that if you look at the hinges of the LTCB and the UU GAB there is enough of a difference to see that they are not from the same maker. Now if you look at some early brest eagle pins you can find some hinges that are very close.

Bottomline is that this is another myth based upon a cursory observation of hinge details that have never been properly scrutinized and laid to rest.

                        Thanks Don.

Just goes to show how much there is still to find out about this hobby.

Don, that could very well be the real makermark of Wernstein, it's not sure yet, as I recall our friend Bass will also ask it to his connections what it stands for.
                              Kind regards,
