Hi Skip. Excellent question! This is one of the problems with unmarked badges that was talked
about in another thread. Since it is unmarked, there is reaslly no benchmark to compare it to.

I have this same badge, and I also believe it to be good. My reasons are that it is definitely period
zinc; the hinge and catch are period; it is very well made (not shabby or sloppy like so many fakes.)

Mostly I like the details of the badge. It is very well designed and well-struck. Notice the details
of the eagles' head; the scales on the talons; well articulated cross-hatching of the acorns;
and the details of the artillery.

None of this is proof...but IMO the badge is authentic.

Hi Guys,

The heer flake badge is one of my favorites an as you probably know by now for me everything is also in the detailing.

Concerning the badge shown by Allan I have no problems with that one. The eagles head shows a little distortion probably due to wear but all the other features are ok.

Thanks very much for your comments on my Heer Flak Badge.

As a matter of interest it was a vetren bring back.

I was given a large piece of card, with about 12 or so medals/awards on it.

The vet' was given them by POW he was looking after.
