Appears that the soldier who earned this award wore it in very rough conditions that broke the catch, so he sewed it to his uniform so he would not lose it.

It's real rough and salty and I like it, you can really see that it was valued and the wear from probably rubbing on the metal of the vehicle he was in says I have been there IMO. To me this would be a great find .

Very nice and salty zinker in bronze made by Assman. The period repair is very cool!
