    Boxed Riveted IAB

Does anyone know who made these badges? It's not marked, the swastika joins the rifle, and riveted catch and hinge. It almost feels like an aluminum material; very light whatever it is, and it has the stamped outline around the edges of the planchet from the die strike. Anyone have an opinion? s/f Robert

          Hi Robert,
I think that these are still listed as "Unknown Maker" at this time, looks like a nice badge, nice silvering left on face.

So far these are from a unknown maker. Interesting to see the date on the back of the box though.

Don´t throw away your fake WB´s! Get in touch with me.
I collect them for reference purposes for the benefit of the hobby (for the right "fake" price of course).

The box and badge could be easily married though ? These four rivet badges IAB and GAB you find so often in good condition as it is, I just bought a near mint GAB and someone else I know a mint IAB example.

                Hi Robert,
That's a great looking badge and with issue box as well, i'm well into IAB's but don't know a tenth of what some of the other guys know.

That******180;s possible Marcus. These 4 Riveted badges are not that often encountered though but as you say they are often in Mint condition when found.

War badges is not my strong side but this badge looks nice to me. The wear and tear on both the badge and box match in my opinion. I think they came together like that.

The date on the box is very interesting to me. I always thought these zinkers were made mid-late war. Nice badge too.

For all we know this Box could have come with another badge than the posted one, who knows it might be a replacement badge that is stored in the vets old box...

The box could certainly have been mated to the badge post-manufacture, but it sure had an IAB in it. The folded paper is that badge wrapping paper-type material, and you can clearly see the IAB outline where the badge was wrapped.

I am no IAB badge expert either, but I also thought these were a later issue badge. I dothink they are a neat variation, and other forum members have also posted some great examples of these. Dannie, I appreciate the link, and thanks for the collective comments! s/f Robert
