    Silver Wernstein IAB

I just received this nice heavy Wernstein IAB. Are these just normally heavy, or could be an early tombak piece? It's really really heavy, maybe just very massive.

Looks like it is a white metal badge. If it was tombak you would see yellow in the scratched in initials.

                Robert,
It looks to be a very nice zincer to me also.

                Zinc stinks!

I would have assumed zink except for the reverse setup. Is this setup common for a zinker?

                    Don,
It's not totaly uncommon to see hardware that is normaly associtated with buntmetal badges in place on the early high quality zinc badges.

Yes, there was a pretty extensive thread on this particular badge recently that took us into a different discussion forum (GCA), showing us the relationship to other Wernstein hardware.

Tombak, whitemetal or zinc this badge is HEAVY.

Hi Chet, I'm aware of that. The metal in the scratches didn't look dark enough to be zink to me on my work computer.
