Not original IMHO. Looks like a lead cast badge to me by the wear on the front.. Pin/catch is not what one would expect on a real period piece.

While I am still learning, I am sure the call on this will be , poor detail, wrong pin set-up, skull is wrong..ect.

I know the catch is not like any I've seen, but it looks to me that it might have been added on with the marks around it where it attaches. It was owned by a jeweler at one time. Another jeweler told me recently that it looks to be a combination of a couple different metals.

The skull has been damaged someway.

BTW, it didn't cost me anything. If anything I'm getting a good history lesson on all this.

It should only be of one metal, zink. Not a good one.
