    Customer Service on a GAB

Here's a legitimate question I would like to know the answer to. I recently sold a GAB that turned out to be a reproduction. I just received the badge back, but it had been severely cleaned. Should I give the guy a refund anyway? I am leaning toward "yes" because the badge is without question a bad one. However, it was not returned in the condition I sent it. Thoughts?

It was bad General Assualt Badge so the "value" was minimal. I don't think you want to hurt your reputation over such a little amount

Yes,sorry, but I the good method did not have to age it artificially.

I simply wanted to move rust and it is as that which I saw the artificial treatment it to age made by the forger.

now,the result is the same one ,it is an badges fake.

I agree with Don. A repro is a repro, aged or cleaned, and not worth a stain on your reputation. Cleaning an authentic badge after the sale is another thing completely.

Hi Craig, I think Scott has summed up exactly what I was planning to say.

          Cheers, Ade.

Have to agree with the others on this, Scott said it, if it was an original and decided it was not wanted, then yeah you would be right to say it was altered.
But the fact remains that it was a fake and is not worth the metal it was made of. The big part is it would hurt your rep and you don't want that, after going through the effort you did to make it right in the first place

I hope a lesson learned by the Phil is that it could have turned out much worse here. Had not the badge been declared a fake and he wanted to return it for whatever reason then Craig has every right to choose his course of action. It did not have to be cleaned to be determined a fake. VERY few awards need to be cleaned what so ever.

Good answers. Thanks! It's what I will do for sure - the full refund. Though why someone would clean a GAB is beyond me. but that's another topic altogether.
