Infanterie assault badge. Please help

I had this medal for few years in my collection and naw when I showed it ti my friend and he said it might be a fake. Please take a look at the pictures and let me know your opinion.

Marker GWL

The problem is the lower part where the needle klicks - lower part of the pin. Is it possible that it was repaired like this?

The GWL is a good one, with a very strong looking repair! (Pillow crimp IAB is good as well)

I agree with Giel. Both badges are good and the repair to the GWL is neatly done.
