Better straight on pics front and back are required to be sure. If it is an original then I think the pin has been replaced.

Hi Rove,

No need for extra pics. The badge is a definite repro. It's one of the castings where the tank is actually INTERGAL with the wreath - if you look closely, the barrel of the tank is solidly joined with the wreath. The rivets are dummies on these. The notch on the top-stroke of the 5 in the number box is another sure-fire sign of a fake, as is the basemetal which is not zinc.

Mike is correct. This is a one piece badge. A totaly bogus example.

I figured it was bad. I was just hoping we could get some decent pics so we could discuss it so that others can learn.

Sorry Don. I put posted some pics in the fake gallery of one that whipped past my scanner in 2000 before it's return journey. It was sent on spec, without me actually sending any money! The only reason I scanned it was to help explain to the seller why it was bad. I think his response to that was something along the lines of "Well **** you very much."
