Beautiful bronze Daisy IAB. I believe it is a second pattern but have been wrong before. If you ever tire of it I know someone who would love to take care of it.

            Hi Guys......

......I have always been wary of badges with such a high copper content. The detailing is nice, but I am not comfortable with the 'penny look.'

If we have direct links to badges produced with high copper content....I must have missed them. For the present, I remain suspicious of these coppery badges.

I am almost with Bruce on this one, although I did see at least one other accepted badge in the past with this color, here is my type 2 in bronze for comparison

                  HELP Please. . .

I bought it from a site that advertises on this forum and they do have a money back if not authentic (No time limit), so I ask to all who are up on the IAB Daisys; Is this an authentic Daisy or should I be worried about the copper coloring?

What are some of the pluses and minuses that you view in this badge?

Can I take closer or more detailed pictures for anyone?

When I looked around I wanted a good detailed badge and this was one of the better ones out there and with being a daisy more collectable???

As for DAISY could someone give me a more detailed explaination. . . Are they just an unknown maker or is it somehow linked to the PAB Daisys ?

                  Thanks...

                    Hi CarJon......

......First of all I'll say that the so-called daisies(as in the PAB variety) are linked to this particular style of IAB, hence the moniker 'daisy.'

Secondly......when re-looking at your images I ask you: "is there a bit of zinc, or bright metal(steel) showing through on the edges looking at it from the backside"?

If that is the case, then perhaps your badge is a cupal variety. Meaning that there would be a copper layer sandwiched between the base metal and the bronze overlay.

Lastly......yes, some collectors find these 'diasies' more desirable to own than some of the other IAB's out there.

Do a search using daisy and you'll get some interesting results.

I hope that this helps some.

Some badges also received a copper coating to help the finish adhere. Bottomline is that you need to be happy with it or it will bother you to no end. Personally I see nothing wrong with it.

Honestly I am a little suspicious of it. Something about the finish just doesn't sit right with me coupled with the fact that I have seen 4 or 5 of these in just this condition in the last couple of months.....which is of course circumstantial at best.

I think a good side shot of the catch and a couple of shots of the hinge will clear up any questions either way.
