IAB marked fo opinions please

Hello guys,

I have the opportunity to purchase this IAB marked fo.
I compared with sure originals I have in my archive and everything seems to match, except the hinge is a bit different
What are your toughts about that?

I think I looked at a similar example last week (cfr. pic in attachement) After Comparing it to the one I found on Lorenzo's site I decided to stay away from it because 1. the area arround the hinge is quit different and the 2. the MM is also a lot fatter than the one shown on Lorenzo's site.

Probably they are both ok but I rather search for an FO a little longer untill it matches Lonrenzo's

Hi guys. Those are interesting examples that you show above, and I'm not sure if they are fakes or variations. However, I have always looked for the longer barrel hinge and the "rounded" rectangle box, as on mine and the one shown below. Also, the area behind the rifle butt should be indented as shown on this example. Mine is indented, but the one pictured below gives a better picture.

Other than that, the badges shown above appear to be the same design as mine. They also look like be period zinc and hand finished.....so they could be variations.

Thought I also post the front of the one I found.

Lorenzo if you look at the one posted by Matteo I think there is still some indentation visible on the back of the gun.

Maybe they are just late war productions. Even material to make hinges got scarces. Inventive as they were they just cut the big hinge on yours in half and they could make two

Hello friends,

thanks for the pictures, browsing around online dealers websites I came across another one (well...maybe too much of this type in a short time ).
I attach here the pictures, this example is really very damaged (the eagle head is broken!) and shows all the features of the other ones posted, the maker mark is 100% matching the one on Philippe's example.

Personally, but it is just a feeling, I tend towards a variation, now the trouble is... to buy or not to buy....

That's realy an ugly one Matteo. In fact they are all quit crude examples. How much do they ask for the ones you found.

The best thing on the one I found is probably the price only €78.

The back. The hinge is different still. It has no "box" to speak of. Perhaps remnants of one...
