    "2" Infantry Assault - A real one?

This is my first infantry assault badge, part of a collection I recently "inherited". I am trying to determine authenticity and value of a number of pieces. Many will be sold on the estand after authenticity is established. I thank you all for your assistance. Edged weapons, pistols, etc I know, but badges/medals/iron crosses??? Not a chance! So Your help is greatly appreciated!

By the way, if real, what manufacturer does "2" represent?

It lookes like a good "2" to me. The "2" stands for...........we believe a die number or production number for Assmann

                  Hello,

Well Assman badges are sometimes marked with their die numbers and have the ejector marks present such as your badge does.
