Chet, my mother and father stored me in a tool box for 17 years and I don't look that good!

        ALSO THE CROSS

Is it my eyes or does one arm of the cross have a smaller diameter than the other this would be on the right side as you look at it.
It looks similar to one I returned not so long ago

                  Any more comments?

OK, there were over 550 views and only 5 guys posted their opinions. Does this badge look fake or real to experts? I would really want it to know.
Thanks to those who have already posted and those who will.

                    The fact that you say...

it is easily bent with two fingers scares me away. I would not be able to get past that. Mine would take two hands and a firm grip to bend. Were these ever made from tin?

by my opinion your shield has no problem!

                          Hello again,

I just bought a high resolution scanner and made close-up pictures of my shield.
Please take a look at them

I don't know how many variations there are of this shield in steel, but the eagle’s head on this one does not compare well to mine. I don't have a scanner and I'm not even going to try getting these details with my digital camera but here are the differences:

                            1) Mine has a more pronounced detail between the upper and lower beaks across the entire length of the beak. This one has a faint line between the upper and lower beaks that fades towards the beak.

                            2) Mine has a more rounded eye pupil with sharper detail; this one has more of a teardrop shape.

                            3) The patterns of the feathers are different.

This is a different pattern than mine for sure, but I don't know if that makes it a repro.

The pictures that Gene posted on the above referenced thread show these differing details quite clearly

Gene posted the short M type Cholm shields. They also have centered bar H
I combined all the long M type shields from this thread in one picture. IMO, they all are the same.
P.S. If you are on the dial-up modem, it could take up to one minute to download it.

                              Mine is the last one.
