    PAB silver hollow value?

Being forced to sell some items to raise money for another item. Not sure at the moment if this has to go, too - so wanna find out its value first. thanks for any reply.

As you might know my knowledge about medals is very basic...

        Hi Gran Sasso,
Looks to me like a very nice B.H. Mayer to me. 300 euro + or - I would guess.

I agree. Llooks like a buntmetal B.H. Mayer and in this condition I would price it around $300 - $350 USD

          Nice badge

Thanks a lot to all of you for the info! Been asked to show a close-up of the hinge - so here it is.

I believe the angled corners on the hinge (such as this one) is a trait unique to badges produced by BH Mayer. Please correct me if I am wrong

Rob your right I just went through this evaluating a PAB, the BH Mayer is very close to the Frank & Reif (mine was a F&R). The Mayer has the angled corners the F&R has a straight edge to the hinge.

Its not - if I sell it, I will use the e-stand.

Well, as you know an item is only "worth" what someone is willing to pay, and if some fool wants to pay $500 for one, I'll gladly sell mine for that much I haven't seen a near mint tombak silver PAB sell here for under $300 in a long time...

I'm with you though. I can't understand how PAB prices continue to rise, and so rapidly. I'm glad I have examples of most of the specific makers I am looking for, because if prices keep rising I simply won't buy any more. It's really getting out of control. $580/600 for a bronze zinc Assman PAB? Uhhh, no thanks. I can live without one!

                          Price

If you guys have buntmetal PABs for sale for $300 USD please contact me. Zink PABs for $ 600 USD? I have not seen any of them yet. Perhaps interest in PABs will lighten up now that several enthusiasts have left the forum. But I think not.
                          Good hunting to you all,

This is the main reason why I'm not really collecting badges any more. I just personally find it hard to pay $300 for something that I found all the time at shows or flea markets for DM100 ($45) six years ago when I lived in Germany. I know, I know - supply and demand, and I don't seem to have a problem paying double what I did for gas three years ago, etc etc. It just takes a lot of the fun out of it. Maybe I just can't teach this old dog new tricks!

                            Best,
                            Greg
