    Thoughts on this AS PAB

I heard all PAB with a 'ball' hinge are fakes, is this one a fake?

Where did you hear that Nick, that's absolutely nonsense. This is a good AS.
        Kind regards,

          Somewhere on the forum

In the 2xPAB from HAD thread, but after rereading that thread, I've come to the conclusion I've misread...

Anyway what are your thougths on this PAB?

This PAB looks to be the real deal including a good dose of zincpest. However, I am uncomfortable with hinge area as well as the makers mark. I've never seen one so distorted.

Good eye Chet-The distorted maker mark shouldn't be in a real one unless the metal melted like silly putty or something-strange badge to say the least-they are very common I'd look for one with out all the zink pest and question marks..
just compared to my silver and bronze and the reverse has a different concaved pattern...really don't like it now

can I see close up of grass pattern from angle your pic it seems to be missing some grass..

Also notice how the ball hinge is not centered. Very odd.

But the zinkpest indicates ==> age, not?

It could also be done with acid for a artificial age-
The badge IMO is a High School metal shop project gone wrong

This badge is on the Estand right now HERE

Besides the reverse set up which looks like crap, did anyone look at the grass pattern compared to a known original?

                          hi guys....

This PAB is kind of odd.... Those are my doubts : right wing frame, driver's windows, and grass. Hope owner can provide some "big" pictures.

I consider both of the badges suspect. They both have the same type of "ageing" present.

Good eye Chet, I think the F&R is also suspect upon taking a closer look.

The aging threw me off, and it looks like it did the same for more than a few others as well as it went un noticed on the estand for so long.

I saw the sales thread soon after it was posted, but never took a real good look at either of the PABs because I had no interest in buying them. Today I stumble upon this thread and realize that the badge Nick posted was on the estand.

Even zinc pest is no longer a good indicator anymore.
