Skip,
I have made the makermark image B/W and attached it to the thread started.
Scott,
Nobody knows (yet) for sure who or what R over C is? The best guess might be some distributor who 'farmed out' the GWL merchandise. It definately is NOT an employee of GWL, who finished or 'proofed' the badge. The fact that the RC is so large and almost totally obscures the GWL logo really makes me wonder what is going on?

I never saw a CCC with these overstamp before and would gladly see some more pics of badges stamped with these letters.

Hi Mark,
Very interesting, never seen it before either. You say you have other badges by GWL with the RC stamp over it? Which badges, I've never even heard of that before...
Tom D.
"Edit", Oops, sorry Mark, just reread your first post and saw the other badges you were talking about. Very interesting. Any other firm in Ludenscheid with RC initials??If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a littleNew Book - The German Close Combat Clasp of World War II

Interesting... look at the 'C' in post 10. Is is tilting to the 1 o'clock position. The 'C' in post 1 is tilting to the 11 o'clock position. That makes me wonder if the 'R' and the 'C' were two different stamps and somehow 'hand tapped'?
