    i bought this piece as an original

    should it be a fake i will delete of course the thread in selling
    but its ok, its time to ask okrach about his doubts and reasons for

    Sure thing, Pal,

    IMO the front has been repainted, see attached picture and the material seems to be wrong for such a badge (glossy scratchy rear) . The pin has a correct shape but the hinge looks different to what I am used to see.

    PS. Shall my suspicions be wrong I will be more than glad to confirm my mistake and offer apologies to You.

          Hi,

          From what I can see, I don't have a problem with this badge. It certainly appears to be genuine and I think the finish is original (maybe polished a bit). 30 seconds in acetone will tell if it's been refinished, but in this case I do not think so (and acetone will NOT affect a genuine plated finish on a tombak badge like this). The hinge has been bent a bit but seems to have the rounded top edges, indicating to me a probable unmarked 30 as already suggested. There may even be remnants of the concentric circles on the reverse. Not an unfair price either. Good luck with the sale!

                  I don't think You know me enough to make such a conclusion but nevertheless... as I said - please do accept my apologies (I have no problem with that as Yoiu can see) but I am simply cautious chap (been burned several times) and love to be sure. Glad to learn something more.

                  But as You've been told the general WH awards threads would be better place to discuss it....

                      I do not see a problem with the badge, nor do I see a problem with another member not seeing it as original.

                      If somebody wants to question your badge then get defensive, but not with attitude.

                      Good luck with the sale, but don't be pissed because somebody wanted it to be reviewed.

                        I'm with all1knew. It is each and every members right here to question an item they aren't sure about. Doesn't matter if 1 person or 100 thinks it is bad. We have the right to ask for more info.

                        Your badge is good, apparently, so let it go. And be polite, when people are polite to you. No need to be rude.
