          Hi Chris......

......because the gold seems to be inside of the pitting, my first impression is that it has been re-finished. Perhaps someone is upgrading a silver or bronze? Or, on the other hand, just a staight-away beat up gold that has been refinished.

            Hi Chris,

In my opinion not a desirable CCC, if you are looking for a gold grade. For me, definitely a modern finish.
            Cheers, Frank

thats what i noticed but wasnt 100% sure on how deep the gold went on this maker. one of the larger pits does show grey and no gold but on the granade the pits look all gold

it looks indeed a zink one with zinkrot, however it is refinished after a zinkrottreatment?
                    or am I wrong?

                      I agree.....possibly ground-dug and repainted.

Probably started life as a bronze clasp.

I have never seen an original gold ccc with that type of copper-gold coloured finish. The originals had a bright fire gold type wash and I sure wouldn't touch any 'gold' ccc that had the back plate missing.
