    Czechoslovakian pre war badges

I decided to put these in this section seeing that Czechoslovakia became a part of the Reich.

I don't know much about these pre war badges except that I have been told they are difficult to find and that they came in three grades of bronze, silver, and gold. There was a heavy machine gun and a mortorman's badge as well (which I don't have). As you can see I have two rifleman qualification badges in bronze, one light machine gunners badge in bronze, and one Artilleryman's badge in silver. There are two different styles of National Emblem (maker) marks. One mark is impressed and the other is in relief.

Each of these badges were brought back by a US veteran who landed at Omaha Beach and fought his way all the way to Berlin picking up souvenirs in every country he passed through. After the war he stayed in Europe for two more years with the U.S. Occupation Forces.

Does anyone have any idea as to value or are able to tell us more about them?

    Thanks,

    Chuck

        Chuck,
I live in the Czech Republic and have a few of these badges, but i have to admit I'm not very knowledgeable on them. I'd suggest you go to this forum link http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtop...3618b9eb532758 and look at the postings by a guy named Vrba. He knows a lot about the Czech military and he speaks English, so if you can contact him through that forum you might give it a try; if he doesn't know, he may can find someone for you. Also, you might post these in the international forum on Wehrmacht Awards and see what you get.

        Good luck,
        Dale
