    Flak badge repro

Hi all. Awhile back I asked for help on a Flak badge marked W.H. Wien. I was told that it was a repro, that you would never find the maker mark like that. I just found a badge exactly like that one on Tom Wittman's site. He's got it listed as an excellent original at over $400. I guess I'm just wanting some reassurances that I was told correctly. I'd hate to think that I passed up a good badge for an incredible deal. Thanks.

Current thought on these are that they are fake. 10 years from now who knows? You have to be comfortable with it.

I had Tom Wittman offer me one of those really bad AS in Triangle PAB's with the box hinge with the makers mark just above the catch. So you still need do research on everything that you are not 100% sure about. This site has saved me a lot of money in the early years of collecting and I am sure it has done the same for many others. But back to the Flak....I also have never heard good things about the W.H. WIEN marked flakers.

      Regards

Wittmann also had a reproduction AGMuK CCC on his site a few weeks ago, but I think it has now since sold.

You must look at the badge and do your research. Just depending on the dealer to do your research for you will get you in trouble in this hobby.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Hi Tom. Yes, I agree. Depneding on the seller to do your homework will come back to bite you. Thanks.

Hi Andy. Yep, just like that only with a darker finish.
