    Very strange thing happened.

Hi Guys, remember the AS PAB I posted a few months ago with the date inscription ? just imagine my suprise and unbelieve when surfing the German Ebay and seeing my badge for sale, and when I say my badge I mean my badge with every line and flaw and zinkrot spot and everything, look at the flaws on the left bottom tracks, the eagles chest feathers, only strange thing is this one has no pin, the material looks strange and I believe it's a casting, is it possible that even the engraved date is duplicated when a casting is made, , I asked the seller some more pics but suddenly the badge was sold.
I really would like to hear what you make of this.
The one on the right is my badge.
This is the link to the website and the badge is still on it. www.best-militaria.de

the reverse, please watch the die flaw on the tracks and the zinkrot spot on the turret that is also visible on the front on the turret. the lines on the eagle head, the two lines on the right wing.
it also seems that the mm is in the badge and not on the badge.

It would not be the first time someone steals pics to start a fake auction.

Yup. Unfortunately a very common occurrence on eBay
I'd contact eBay and let them know that his auction is bogus

Imo he has put this one up (and marked it sold) to make his site look better, and to attract more buyers. Ofcourse not really a nice thing to to if you haven't even asked the permission of the owner...
                Kind regards,

                    Good question....

And how could he manage to place a sticker with a number on a badge which is not in his possesion?????

I didn't say he lifted the pic from here. The history of this badge did not begin with its current owner. It could be a pic from another old dealers site or, perhaps he sold it long ago before the current owner got it and we are seeing it in its original condition.....

Dons' theory sounds very possible. The pin may have been replaced before Den got it.

Den, how long have you had the badge?
                        regards

                          -

I guess the fraud´s picture is old. He´s trying to sell something he doesn´t have. I guess the pin was attached after the fraud had the badge and before you got it.

Purchased the badge about two months ago from a German guy who was selling it for a friend who bought it from a guy who claims he got it from a vet.
The pin looks quite original to me and it really doesn't bother me where the badge is coming from, the thing that bothers me is that it was offered for sale on that website for 60 euro , but the fact is that if the pin is a replacement they did a good job on it.
