        Hi,

        If an RS, which tend to be on the thick side to begin with, can be bent as per the statements above, then imo it is fake. The two close up scans kill the debate imo - poor detail on the obverse and imo casting imperfections on the reverse (those "pimples") .

        Amazing what different images tell you - I thought it looked crisp from the digicam pics at the top of the thread! Not any more.

              I'm the seller of the badge.
              Before i sold it i asked some opinions of other members on the forum.
              They told me that this is a original rs pab but it is made with other materials of metal so the weight is less than the original weight.I'm still sure that it is a original one.But when it turns out that it isnt a good one steve get's his money back.

                    Hi guys,

                    Thanks again for the feedback, and Neils thanks for getting involved as the seller.

                    I have had a few late war kreigsmetal awards and these have all tended to be very hard, brittle and coarse. The weight of the PAB doesn't worry me, it is mainly how soft and flexible the metal is. For this to be as soft/flexible, and its ability to write like a pencil, implies that it has a reasonably high lead content. I would have thought that a high lead content would not be something used late war in the manufacturer of badges given this metal's importance in the arms industry. Also, don't late war badges usually incorporate the catch into the cast of the badge. I am not an expert on this but it doesn't appear that the reverse set up is noticeably late war in style.

                    I appreciate that you sought opinions pre-sale but would like those who gave you these opinions to have another look. Could you contact them and ask them to join the discussion.
