PAB FLL43 Catch - which type more common?

Which type of catch on the Friedrich Linden FLL 43 PABs is more common? I always thought "type A" (the one on the left here) was more common, but in looking through old threads it appears there are a lot of "type Bs" (The one on the right, that doesn't have a catch plate).

    Which type do you have?

(I know there is a different setup for the much rarer ones with the FLL 43 marking stamped; I'm only talking about these two types.)

    Thanks,
    Greg

    Greg,
Just as an aside the thick one is far more common on Flak badges by FLL. I have seen very few round wire ones.

          Greg,
In silver I have one Type A and two Type B's. In bronze I have a Type B. I also have a unmarked massive bronze that has round wire catch on a small rectangular plate.

I******180;ve had a couple of both but the majority had the "ersatz" type with ? on a round plate. Strange, as the flat, thick type fits exactly in the recess it was made for. Looks a lot tidier as well.

              hi Greg

Mine is siliver one, and it has a type A catch. Can you check the font of "3" on type B? It looks like the 3 has a flat top. I don't know it is real or just my eyes are getting bad .

                Hi Indy,

The 3s are the same on both; the whole FLL 43 markings are the same.

Thanks to all for your data - what you've managed to do is to talk me into keeping both of these! (I only told my wife I *might* sell one.)

                Best,
                Greg

                    Greg,
I'd keep it also. This maker is always in demand.
