    Hi Ron,
    From the get go the pitting along with the softness in the details turned me off on the first badge posted. The badges by this maker will pretty much jump out at you due to their crisptness of detail.

      Sorry guys. I am new to the use of the caliper. After I measured the 50 PAB, I started messing (playing) with the caliper. I didn't notice before I measured the IAB that I had changed the zero of the dial. After getting a few more instructions on the use of it, I reset the thing properly to zero. I just re-measured the badge with the zero set properly. The measurements I got this time are:

      H 62.37 mm
      W 47.42 mm
      R 61.18 mm
      WS 20 mm

      Sorry to have misled you by my ignorance and ineptness with the use of the caliper. The measurements of the 50 PAB stand after I reset the zero. I have since noticed that this thing is touchy and slips out of zero easily if you bump it or whatever. I will have to pay close attention to that before I measure things in the future, or try to find a better quality caliper.

        Hi,

        I agree that the first badge appears to be a casting. Personally, I'm not 100% convinced it's a casting of a JB&Co as I see a few minor detailing differences - unless JB&Co had 2 sets of dies or reworked their dies at some stage?

        Measurements of mine;

        H: 62.0 mm
        R: 61.4 mm
        W: 47.1 mm

        Interesting that the casting appears bigger than the genuine item, again to me indicating it may not be based on a JB&Co. Keep in mind my example is quite vaulted from top to bottom.

        Regards
        Mike

            Mike,

            The #1 badge is quite vaulted as well. Here also are a couple of other quick photos of it to show the pitting etc. a little better.

            Ron
