    Another PAB maker?

Here is another, what can you tell me about the maker and etc. It seems a bit strange to me in that it is sort of bronze color on the back.

    Thanks,
    Ron

Hello Ron, looks like a S&L to me, in bronze. The obverse bronze has faded.
    Thanks,
    Mike

Thanks Mike and Indy. You guys amaze me with your quickness. I never had any books on the variety of PABs when I was an active collector (don't know if any existed then)........actually didn't care much about maker's then. You would see PABs often at the shops and fleamarkets for $5 to $6 (a dealer would be asking $10...maybe) but they didn't sell quickly. Most of mine (don't have that many) were ones I picked up from vets.

        Thanks again,
        Ron

Really I have idea what they cost now, but I doubt (based on some of the other items I have seen priced recently) that they are that cheap now. I haven't been to a military show since about 1980 or so, and wasn't looking for them then since I already a few. In fact at that time I was mostly going to sell. I would imagine they must be worth at least $30 by now . Now before someone gets bonkers............that was a joke. I remember the first dagger I bought was a 2nd Luft ($6) in mint condition from a gun shop (EK2s were about $1 each..........wish I had bought more), and the second I bought was an SS for the same price. That was about 1958 or 59. Before that the ones I had were mostly given me by vets. Yep, they used to do that in my area. The ones I have posted cost $5 and less, if anything.

Thanks for the ID help, and, if I find a bunch of those $5 PABs, I will direct them to you. I will likely be posting some other badges to see if I can learn the makers on them. I am slowly photographing and identifying my junk for my family, so they will know what they are getting rid of when they are ready to do so.

            Thanks,
            Ron
