Close Combat Clasp in the last "Military Advisor"

In the last Military Advisor issue, I read an article about a Close Combat Clasp and its box bearing SS runes.
I would like to have your opinion about the CCC itself. As far as I can see, it doesn't match with wartime and documented examples. So, to make short, IMHO it's a fake. The hinge is especially doubtful.
No offense intended to this very good magazine. I am a subscriber since its beginning and will continue to buy it. Nobody is perfect.
