                        Hi Greg,

Looks like an original AGMuK clasp, but this finish looks odd. Looking at the reverse, where the silver wash is coming off, the clasp looks bronze. Also, on the obverse, the finish looks artificially taken off the highlights. It may be the pics and finish is always a tough customer to judge, but I think it is suspect. With that type of backplate crimping, it would not be difficult to pop out the plate, refinish and the reinsert.

                        Tom D.
If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

                          HI Greg,
I'm with Tom here. I think your clasp was "upgraded" at some point. It is easy to test this. Just put some acetone on the reverse and see if silver finish is "going away"...

                              Thanks fellas.....
I don't have any acetone, but I have some lacquer thinner. I think she is going to have a bath tonight, and see what happens.
I picked this up off e-stand a year or so ago. When it arrived it looked kinda funky, but nonetheless, I must have gotten distracted by other things and forgot about it. I "rediscovered" it this morning when doing some tidying up.
I'll report back in a few days, and we'll see how the old girl looks after her bath.
                              Thanks Again,
                              G.
