CCC Silver R.S. Help needed ASAP!

    Hello boy's
I've been offerd this CCC in Silver made by Souval. Personally I like this one becouse the dieflaw near the crimpingplate is visible and the swaz has the Souval Twist. But I would like to know if this one is really authentic and also worth the 240 euro's the guy's asking for it?

    Here are some pic's

The pics are not the best, especially the obverse.

From what I can see I would say OK.

I concur with the others on the spange. The pin though, doesn't look like any of the two types I would expect on this decoration.

          Thanks boy's
So there is a posibilty that the pin is replaced, but that the spange is original?

Scott, what are you trying to refer to? If I click on the URL the search dousn't match any results.

            Hi Peter,

I too think the CCC is original with most likely a replaced pin. The pin has an odd shape. The rest of the clasp looks OK from those crappy pics.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

              Thanks Tom,
So is it to much to pay about 200 euro's for it?

              Cheers:Peter

Peter, for a silver in that condition, with replaced pin, I would say that 200 Euros is a decent price, I would definately not pay more than that.

Peter, there were two types of pins found on original RS CCCs, shown below. The 3rd picture is a fake FLL CCC with a similar pin to your clasp. My opinion of your clasp, a contemporary replacement on an original award.

Thanks Tom, I've never knew there where 2 styles of pins for this maker. I actualy don't like the fact that a perfectly nice and original spange has a repro pin. Is it unethical to replace the fake pin for a real one, and do you have by any chance a pin laying around doing nothing?

                            Cheers:Peter
