Hello Gentleman,

I have a had this piece in my collection for a while and have always argued about the authenticity of the piece. Some members (not myself) felt that the needle pin or the cut outs, was cause for concern for this award. This is not really the reason for the post. I would like to hear your thoughts on the the compasions of the reverse of this example's reverse. Both examples are the gold class .The first is pot medal and has lost about all of the finish, the second is zink and . Both have the three cut outs to the reverse, needle pin and almost similiar catch.

Hello,

Yes, the second example is from Helmet Weize, I used his pic to illustrate that the APB did come with a needle pin and three cut outs as well as the more commonly seen solid and two cut out variations. Also the first example, shown was originally thought to be a bronze class, but may in fact be a gold class. I should also mention that the second example from Heer Weitze is one of two that are on his site with the same three cut out, needle pin, et.
My hope were that another member would have a gold example with the same features.
