    Hello all.

First, thanks for your answers in this tread.

I got a mail sent to me that says it was 2 manufactors of this medal:

    1: Deschler & Son Munchen
2: Petz & Lorenz Of Unterreichenbach

Can anyone here confirm this info?

If this is to be corect, is there any diference between the medals made by these two manufactors?

The ribbon is "waffled", so if u strech it, it will be bigger.

Gents, lets stay in focus here, please.
This tread is not about if Detlev has aproved the medal or not.

              12 yr ss & 25 yr

              1. I thought that a round ring was for the first type issued on 12 & 25 yr ??? true or f false
              2. Was the wreath hollow or solid and soldered seperately on type 1, 2 ???
              3. Was type 1 12 yr always silver plated or made from nickel silver ????

              need help

                In responce to your questions:

                1. I thought that a round ring was for the first type issued on 12 & 25 yr ??? true or f false. You are quite correct, but there were round rings on the 4 and 8 year medals. The medals themselfs have a different designed died. The detail is the same as latter ones. The first form of SS Award are extreemly rare, compared to the standard type.

                2. Was the wreath hollow or solid and soldered seperately on type 1, 2 ???. The construction of the cross is the same as the latter type. Thus solid integeral wreath.

                3. Was type 1 12 yr always silver plated or made from nickel silver ????I have not held one so the material is unknown to me. However I would assume that the cross was constructed in similar metal to the latter ones. The cross its self has no die diferences. The only varriation is the suspension eylett and the ring.

one other difference is in the SS Runes on the ribbon. They are larger and more pronounced.
