Not a good differentiator, Philippe, some of the GB fakes also have that extra rim.

What do you guys think of the one from Herr Weitze? Different Rivets, different place of catch... but hidden swas

@robert: yes, sorry to have been not clear. I consider Philippe`S, Skip's, Detlev's and Jeff's as one type.
About Larry's badge I do not want to say too much until we see acorns, eagle feet and other details more clearly.
The problem with GBs is that "different" does not necessarily have to mean fake. It could mean that, but we should find that out, hopefully in this thread. Thanks for starting it, Philippe.
        Cheers, Frank

          Dear Frank,

Like I wrote I wasn't sure about the rim also because on some badge it doesn't go all the way arround. The fact that it doesn't can very well be the result of handfilling. Untill now I never handled a sure fake that had one but I trust you have.

Jeff while looking at your badges somethig else crossed my mind. The black/dark grey tone on your badge is just so perfect and smooth. When you look at it closely do you find remains of silver finish on the wreath or is it IYO possible that your badge never received any silver finish?

Hi Phillipe, there is traces of the silver finish on different parts of the wreath, however 99% has faded away. Now, on the catch and hinge, or were the solder was used that has retained the original finish nicely. best wishes,

Sorry there is, it has the same die flaw as the one on Larry's badge linking the fourth and the fifth left track chain, counting from the top down, together.

Txs Frank. It even has more convincing sheer/file marks then the original.
