    Awesome. Thanks for all the replies. I just wish I had had this wealth of information back in the stone ages. (mid 90's) Then I would still have my nice and dull but genuine silver CCC. Just had to go after the pretty, shiny thing. My Precioussss.

    Seriously though, is it possible that the various types of period silver finish used would have by now turned a yellowish/gold color after 60 plus years? As I understand it, (with my high school chemistry) tarnishing is a chemical process that occurs only with the presence of actual silver.
