    Copper PAB?

I just received a bronze PAB that appears to be made of copper. Could it be cupal? The reverse looks very much like copper. The front looks like a chocolate brownish color much like a copper penny would have after 60 years. Pin is not magnetic and appears to be copper as does the C roundwire catch. Is this PAB period and, if so, does anyone know the composition or the maker? Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hi Richard,

This is not a period PAB. It's a rather new copie of the porsche PAB made out of a modern material.

As Philippe said, it is another fake PorschePAB. Could you please tell us who is offering that one?

        HI Guys:

Is this one a copy of a real style or a total fantasy style? Philippe mentioned a copy of a Porsche and if so, how close is it? IE, is it cast from one?

          John,
It is copy from the real PorschePAB. It is very close to the original, but fakers made a mistake by using wrong hardware on it...

Hello and thanks for the information. The PAB was found at a flea market in Germany by a friend of mine. I don't think he paid too much for it. Should the pin on a genuine badge be of a different material? The pin, hinge and catch all seem to be made of the same copper material as the badge. In addition, one of the things I didn't particularly like was a kind of "bug eye" look of the eagle.

              Hi John,

These without a doubt are among the very best copies ever made of PAB's and we really shouldn't go in to much detail about what is wrong with them.

                Philippe,

What a coincidence that we just talked about this fake at Eben Emael, where you said that you luckely have only seen one showing up
                Kind regards,

                  Hi Giel,

Nope the one we discussed was yet another Porsche fake but much more uncommon then the one in this thread.
