    Cloth iab...

    Hi guys,

I was quite shocked with the photo I recieved today,I'm still not sure yetbut it seems quite impossible. Apart from a very rare tropical police uniform, look at the awards, do you guys think what I think?

They look like two patches, the colour of the border around the iab, as also the inside are deffinitely greener than the uniform Also the ek1 looks like a cloth version...

I was also thinking that this could have been added by the photographer, but the detail of these badges look to good for that, as also the relief of the badges is adjusted to the uniform(quite impossible for that time I think)

I know this normally doesn't exist, and I hope you guys find this as intresting as I do

Don´t throw away your fake WB´s! Get in touch with me.
I collect them for reference purposes for the benefit of the hobby (for the right "fake" price of course).

cloth IABs do exist. Klietmann shows one in his book. I never doubted them.

                Giel,
Great photo.... We all have seen the cloth wound badges and EK1s, but has anyone seen a cloth IAB or any of the assault badges in cloth?

This could turn out to be a very interesting thread.........

Only the Luft GAB assault badge wise (I know or can think of), forgetting the rest of the Luft and Naval qual and war badges.

Detlev sold a cloth IAB on his site several years ago. I'll have to see if I still have the photos of it on my home computer. It was a handmade type version, not the printed on cloth type shown in Klietmann's book. Found it, attached.

I've never seen a photo of one, though I've seen(and have) photos of the cloth EKI, very lovely to see. I also still have the photos that were posted by somebody(not sure if it was this forum or not) about their vet friend and his Russian made(peasant woman if I remember) cloth DKG and cloth Tank Destruction strip, plus photos of the vet wearing them in Russia. Very cool stuff.

That is very interesting...On Giels photo to me it looks like the same quality of a machine sewn pilots badge not something someones mother made. Very interesting !

Jim, are you referring to the IAB photo I posted, or the DKG/Tank Strip I mentioned?
