"and it is a new trend by saying on publice place that a person will pay whatever it takes to get it. That's the thing that distroys this fine hobby."

Saying it in public or not, will not stop someone buying who wants to fill a gap in his collection. For some people money is not an issue....

Skip, that is a great pic, how ever many times you manage to post it

BTW, if you were to sell your bronze wurster IAB to Winkler, how much do you think he would offer you ?? before putting it on his site for more than 400 euros

    cheers

Can't get to the site but I am assuming it is a solid wurster buntmetal in bronze?

400 Euro is rather steep, but then again.........I have already given up. There is plenty still out there for reasonable prices if you are patient and specialized in what you collect. The fact that it is an IAB I think is what kills some people, if it were a PAB of equal difficulty to find I think 400 would still be too much but at least closer to the mark, why.........because PAB's are all the rage. My last outing in Germany last weekend, I ran into a long lost source who when I met him cared not a bit about PAB's being "rarer" then IAB's. Well 2 years later his flea market price for a "UU" PAB was 220 Euro, and for a "KWM" it was 280 Euro. Flea market!!!!!! So instead I picked up a nice IAB, WB, EK group with docs for way way less.

In the end it is all about what you love to collect.......and to an extent what the suppliers pick up on in terms of trends. I know in my short time here IAB's have seemed to be showing up a bit more often. It will logically follow that dealers who cruise these pages will see that IAB's are becoming more popular.........hence prices will rise and rise. That is why I do not shop from the big dealers (OK very very rarely).........ridiculous prices. But at the same time my IAB collection is ever expanding. Just go else where and be more patient. That is usually the mantra of the economically challenged collecters . But I ramble, and it's time for coffee
