    Opinions on 2 IAB badges.

Am planning on listing these for sell on the e-stand. But wanted to make for certain that these are period original items. Don't want to make any mistakes.

    Any assistance welcome.

    Thank You,
    Howard

    1). Hollowback.

2). Super heavy, with file marks(?). Crude detail. And very heavy. My opinion is bad.....

First one looks like a well worn BH Mayer, with repaired catch.

I would also considder the second one as a copy, altough it has a very believable pin set up.
                Kind regards,
                Giel

I agree with Giel on the hollow badge.

The second has awful details and looks like you can see the paint runs on the side shot.
For me it does not resemble any IAB I have seen. Certainly not for my collection...

                  regards

I dont know anything about the first one but I do think the 2nd one looks like a cast copy....

The second one indeed is a copy. This IAB has been arround for a long time but mostly you encounter them with all finish gone.

This copy (second IAB) has been covered numerous times in the past. There is one thing that will give it away upon one glance: "wear" on bayonet tip, wreathband and talons. This wear is the very same on ALL examples of this old fake. Has been sold in the past as original, even by renowned dealers.
                        Cheers, Frank

Thanks to all, for sharing your knowledge.

This 2nd IAB will not be sold (by me or anyone else) as an original! I've already engraved the word FAKE to the reverse.

                          Thanks Again,
                          Howard
