Was it possible to be awarded two Heer badges and wear at the same time?

I guess I must have too much time on my hands...however i was wondering if say a soldier served with the infantry and eanred an IAB and then later in the war say ened up in with the panzers and got a PAB...what badge would he wear?

    Or was this not possible?

    Thanks

    Hello Dave,

good question! I would say it was definitly possible to wear both awards.
Eric Queen showed a very interesting photo of a paratrooper long time ago with a lot of different badges on. I think this soldier also had an Infantry Assault Badge and a LW Ground Assault Badge on his tunic. (also paratrooper badge, close combat badge, ..)
    Maybe Eric shows it again.

    All the best
    Klaus

There is a famous photo of a panzer guy from Totenkopf sitting in the Turret of his Panzer IV at the town of Charkov wearing a IAB on his black panzertunic.

      Found it.

I collect them for reference purposes for the benefit of the hobby (for the right "fake" price of course).

I would agree its possible, I've got a photo of a luft guy wearing a flak badge and a ground assault badge so why not a heer guy wearing two badges.

He should not wear more than one i.e. IAB, PAB or GAB (I have some photos somewhere of two being worn!) and he should wear if I remember correctly the one that is relevant to his current unit!!!
I have a Soldbuch where the guy recevied GAB with 1 Kav.Div., PAB iB with 24 Pz.Div. and then IAB iS with an Inf.Div. in Italy.......the photo I have of him he is wearing the IAB iS along with CCC iB.....

                    I will dig it out....

                            I hate to.....

......rain on this parade, but sometimes a bucket of cold water is necessary. The above image(von Majer) is so suspect it makes me wonder why none of you notced that the bird on the paratroop badge is flying in the incorrect direction.

                            Can we say photographic retouching?

Sometinmes we need to really take a good look at something instead of just being overwhelmed by it.

                            OK?
