Robert - Your Panzer Marksmanship Lanyard, Grade 1 has all the things I look for in an original example. A lot of the time the badge has darkened but yours has pretty much retained its bright finish. You have a very nice example here.

                          Thanks Tim.

@Chay - the 1st grade isn’t difficult to find, however the Panzer Lanyards are more expansive then Heer Lanyards. Panzer 1st grade will cost you around 250 Euro (with shipping and etc.), when Heer Lanyard 1st grade was sold 2 days ago on e-stand for $80...Of course you have to pay a lot more for higher grades...
IMO these Lanyards deserves absolutely more attention. Yes, they are not “combat related”, but they are for sure an early “awards” and their display is just impressive…

I think a basic Panzer Marksmanship Lanyard, Grade 1 such as this one normally is offered in a range of $150-$300. That is a pretty wide spread but that seems to be the norm. These are not rare but they don't appear every day.

In 1978, as a new collector, I attended my first OVMS Show in the old Peter and Paul Hall in Cincinnati, Ohio. That was a real experience!! At the end of the show, I came across a table where the seller had 10 Panzer Marksmanship Lanyards, Grade 1 - he wanted $100 for the bunch. I was pretty low on funds so I bought only one. In hind sight, I don't think that was one of my better decisions.
