Hello All: This is what I think is a late war zinc CCC. Is this any good? I had to adjust the color to get it close to actual but it is no too far off. The badge is curved and is in nice condition with good detail. CCC's are not really my specialty. Appreciate any insights as to authenticity and if correct, if the maker is known. Thank You.

CCC in Bronze - No Maker

Hi rfleming32,
Nice original bronze CCC, so called Steinhauer and Luck. Notice the catch on it and compare it to page 170 of Frank's book. Several other characteristics point to S&L as well, which I will explain in some detail in the book.
The bronze finish is almost a dark olive, which is typical of this maker. The detail is also phenomenal, and equals AGMuK and JFS.

I was always wondering, have you found between S&L made CCC's some examples which would suggest a post war production by this company?
@rleming32 great Clasp!

Hi Robert,
No, I have not found any evidence of S&L post war clasps.....yet. Even the ones without the central motif cutout have the accepted wartime setups, correct finish and crisp die strike.
I did examine one a few weeks ago that was of this type, but the die strike was extremely weak with a funky reverse setup. I believe that one to be a fluke reproduction, as we haven't really seen any others crop up and it looked to be pretty old. Nothing on the scale like what we see with S&L RKs.

Great looking CCC!!
Its nice to see other examples after having read Tom's thread on these types. It helps give a better feeling of the general traits, variations and the type of finish to look for.
Thanks for posting yours.
Robert: That was a great question (in light of postwar S&L LW Flight Clasps) and I appreciated hearing Tom's response.

Can you post some pics of a post war S&L flight clasp? Do you have pics of a good, wartime clasp as well?
Thanks

Tom: I will post photo examples of differences found between the postwar and wartime flight clasps......however....
1. These pictures are not mine, and I owe someone photo credits.
2. I'm not a GO TO guy on this. My impression is that Frank H. is your man.
3. These photos likely came from a thread where he participated or they are his.
4. What little I know comes from reading S&L Flight Clasp threads.
That being said, may I recommend that you start a thread in the Luftwaffe Badge section requesting comparisons, since I feel your interest in this is tied into your very worthy CCC research endeavors.
While I probably have other photo files, which could be shared, I'd like some of the flight clasp experten to take a hand at responding.
First up, a POSTWAR S&L Short Range Nightfighter Clasp. Note the circular cutouts next to the wreath on obverse.
