Help on this PAB please

HI all, happened to acquire a PAB with LOTS of character in a small group today. I know a number of things it isn't; i.e., porsche, solid, semi-hollow, daisy, and probably plenty more. But if any of you PAB guys could help me out with what it IS, I'd be mightily grateful.
As you can see, the badge was sewn to the uniform by drilling 2 holes in the bottom. There's still some string/thread wound around the upper hinge, I'd have to guess since about 60+ years ago.

Hi Hank,

Dennis is correct an early BM BH Mayer and I agree lots of character. Do you think the bend pin also served a purpose ?

Hi Chet,
"Sewn to the uniform" is conjecture on my part...I figured the lower hook broke off, and he probably had more access to a drill than some other means of re-attaching it. Not 100% sure why it's like that, and the family members I bought it from have no clue either. ONe of those things that remain mysterious.

Bizare to say the least.

The hingepin seems to be replaced by a cord but the way in which the pin is bend also had to have a purpose. Question is what was it
