    Iab

    Hi guys,

I had this IAB for quite a while now, but it always gave me a rather cold feeling, the badge is mint, and near perfect,
the cut out spaces on the inside of the wreath are even sharp

An other thing is the head, it's really hard to photograph, but I tried, it seems like it concists of two layers...

Anyway, should I worry about this one? Also what would the maker of this guy be, could this be ShuCo?

    Thanks you

    Giel

        hey Giel

I think it is not a SHuCo IAB. Cause....SHuCo looks like my logo.

its good, I have one with the same flaw on the blade of the bayonet, but mine has a lot more wear.

                Hi Ken,

Although I agree that your badge is very close, I don't think it came out of the same die just follow the cut-out on the reverse. Your badge is a 100% match to the second IAB found with an OM mark in Tim's collection.

Also notice the detailing on the eagles claws, completely different. Giel claws are much closer to the Deschler IAB.

Could you show us the die flaw on the bayonet you mentioned?

Philippe is right, this is a s.c. type 2 OM because one example has been found with the OM mark. This obverse design has also been found as a screwback with an unknown mark. The leaf second from bottom on the left has a stem that is disjointed ( the top vein on the left) which is a trademark of this design. Also the profiling of the rifle in the space between the swaz and rifle is also trademark. The difference on the reverse of the badge at the neck of the eagle may be due to finishing techniques but I do not have enough pics to say that definitively. Would love some close ups of that area on your badges Giel and Ken if possible .

Outstanding Giel! Thank you, now I just need a shot of the type Ken has with the more angled neck to see if I'm right. If not then we are looking at two dyes with the same disjointed stem on that leaf.
