Philippe, I'm not totally convinced it is a fake but I'm not convinced it is real. Just because we only recently (2 years now) identified them as fakes doesn't mean they haven't been around longer. Look at the rounder. I am just cautious of any daisy with this finish. Marc tested mine along with some other badges/medals and found real gold in the finish which is a modern method of creating patina. Remember, it was only when placed next to an original that these became apparant fakes. Measurements are required.

Yes, indeed Phil, some of them are even almost 20 years old, but at this point i would like to hear from Martin, is this badge from UK or not...?

With the help from the few other members, I tracked down 3 of these Daisies (with that soft / blurry reverse) to the dealers in UK. Owner of the one of these badges got her almost 20 years ago! I agree it is not a smoking gun, but something is very stinky here. If Martin's badge is from UK as well, then i would say it is too much of it for the coincidence, don't you think?...

Chay I can't follow anymore. First you write that you have the same badge in your collection and all off a sudden they are worlds apart

So Could you please tell us which type of Daisy you have in your collection. The one posted or a normal one, the later won't help us much, we all have one of those.

Robert this badge isn't from the UK otherwise the swas wouldn't have been sensored. it's from Germany.

There are no UK dealers that offer this badge or any like it.

Toby 4 years ago posted his badge on the Forum and a few months ago another one popped up that also was offered in the UK. That makes 2 in 4 years, so not really relevant IMO.
If this is such agood old fake why don't we see them pop up every where like rounder RK's?

the numbers do not concern me as there are alot of pab,s out there and like we say they have been around a long time ,
i was looking at the construction of this badge and compairing it to an original late warish badge and wondering why all the silly finnish on the reverse and the cast lines and over filing, finnish ect,

                        Hi guys,

It isnt from a UK dealer. Its from a small german antique dealer which is selling the uniform from which the badge was taken of....but hell, anyone can say that....

The officer is named to Ltn. Lohmar. His uniform is for auction too...

Chay please show me the cast lines and while your at it show me one of your "originals" that can compete with this badge in terms of obverse detailing.

Who says they are arround for a long time, apart from me, nobody.

Show me an early scooped Daisy.

What is silly about the finish.

When you start proclaming that badges are fakes and casts you better make sure that you have somethig to back it up. If you're not able to do that you only confuse people that are trying to learn.
