Gab Problem

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen.

I own this F&R GAB and I wanted to ask for some help in cleaning it.
If you look the link you can see there is appearing some black spots that are getting more intense. My badges are stored in a warm flat here in Poland - could be the source??
I have read up some zinc pest problems. Is this what is the problem with my badge? What do you think I should do?

try not to handle the badge too much and maybe a fine layer of vasoline would help to protect the badge,
see what some other members say as well
