          Hi Mike,

Can't see anything wrong with this one! Imo 100% genuine and textbook JFS

            Hi Mike,

I agree with Mike. The badge has everything I like to see on an original. Congrats on a nice find.

Not wishing to detract from anything previously said on this thread but should the zink be showing more signs of bubbling?

                Regards ...

Not necessarily, but could we have some more close-ups please?

Well the zinc itself will never show bubbling. It's the finish that will bubble. Since there is almost no finish left on the reverse of Mike's badge the bubbling can't be visible.

I may be throwing in a red herring here and maybe I should start a thread about aging, bubbling and zinc based badges but most of these sort of badges do appear to have more bubbling than this.

Of course, this might be a really nice example like those AS Type 2 S-Boot badges which always seem to be in mint condition.

                        Well that explains it.

                          Hi,

Philippe's answer aside ( ), from what I've seen JFS in general used a better type of finish (regardless of badge, be it numbered assault, CCC, IAB, etc) which is much less prone to bubbling compared to, for example, RK marked 25/50 GABs.

                          Regards
                          Mike
