Known Maker setup?

I'm sure I have seen this style of hinge/catch securing method on a Infanterie Sturmabzeichen before (but I stand corrected if wrong ).

Firstly, am I correct and secondly is the maker known?

Hi Richard,

Reminds me of Steinhauer & Luck, they have a similar catch variant on their IABs, PABs and eboat badges. Is there any circular stamp or raised mark anywhere to be found?

I was thinking S&L as well but had nothing to confirm that. The reverse is void of any markings and the badge is made from aluminium.

Indeed, as Tom has said this style of hinge is attributed to S&L.

Hi Richard,

If possible I would like to see a close up of the hinge to get a better feel with it. S&L indeed used different crimp techniques on some of ther late war badge but these IMO are only remotely similar and for sur not perfect matches. Since your eagle is made out of Alu it most likely isn't a late war product either.
