Were RK GAB25 & PAB25's issued in boxes

Gents, Was at a local gunshow this past weekend and one of the dealers had an RK made General Assault and RK made Panzer Assault badge (price was $1100/ ea.)......Both were the 25 engagement varieties......Have to say, the GAB25 looked very good (they both did, but I was more interested in the GAB25).....I have a 50 marked RK one and didn't see any thing wrong......My question is: Did these come boxed?.....These were in brown/white tigerstripe-like boxes with tissue paper......I thought they came in envelopes.....Any comments appreciated as always......Bodes

    Hi Bodes,

I've seen pics of RK 25/50 GABs that came from US vets in plain brown/grey boxes - the cardboard variety with separate lid and stapled corners. The boxes you are describing sound like the generic ones that IABs/PABs are more commonly found in. I don't have any experience with numbered badges coming in these boxes but certainly wouldn't rule out the possibility.

Yes! A good friend of mine has the GAB 25 directly (one person between the two handled the business) from the original holder, who never wore it (because the war ended) and it is still in it´s small, simple cardbord box with tissue paper. He has the soldier´s more or less complete equipment and this badge is just a minor part of it. I mean, it wasn´t anything to fool around with, to increase the value.

Thanks for the replies Mike and Ludwig .....Sounds like these being issued with boxes is correct.....I cannot remember whether/not the boxes had staples or not however?......They were displayed with the cover under the rest of the set up.....So does $1100 sound right for each, if they are indeed complete and correct?.....Bodes

BTW.....I think this is the same style box (design) I saw these two badges in...
